When I received this road atlas in September of 2016 it was out of date. For instance, State Highway 130, a toll road running from the Austin area (Travis County) south to Interstate 10 at Seguin, has been open for traffic for four full years, but in the "Roads of Texas Atlas" that highway does not even make it out of Travis County. And I've ridden my motorcycle all over Texas!
Excellent maps but the indexing system could stand some simplification. I mostly use the overview map and would prefer to have it on the inside front cover and page 1.
The maps are very useful.
I would like the set more if there were city specific pages with more detail.
Any Texas with curiosity about the backroads of our state should have this atlas. It is invaluable
Old school. A great supplement to GPS especially if you go in areas where your cell phone apps don't work.
It's big and easy to read and perfect for my needs. I'm using it to house hunt (locating towns and their proximity to where I need to be) in a new state that I know nothing about and will likely use it often to explore my new home.
I bought the new version released in May 1st, 2017. The map is still out of date!
For instance, the map has highway SH130 (a toll road road east of San Antonio and Austin) going north out of Seguin, but the road is not listed as a toll. The page above, SH130 is missing until 30 miles north when it wraps around Austin.
SH 130 finished opening in 2013. This is a major route between San Antonio and Austin. I don't know how out of date the book is, but it's at least 4 years.
This is also a quality control problem. The roads on one page should continue to the next.
